Lighting and local control records

Recorded product specifications and unresolved installation details.
Product / functionRecorded specificationVerification limits
Shelly 1PM Gen4 · on/off lightingNeutral-fed relay with local control and physical input configuration. [L1] [L2]Exact load, enclosure, input/output mode and supplier evidence. Detached mode removes the direct switch/output link. [H5]
Shelly Dimmer Gen3Trailing-edge dimming; user guide records up to 150 W LED load. Some no-neutral arrangements are documented; a bypass is specified below 20 W. [L3]Actual LED driver, inrush, wall controls, dimming range, flicker and noise. Supplier bypass guidance is more conservative. Exact Australian evidence for the required bypass is unresolved; Gen3 evidence does not establish approval for another generation. [L4] [L16]
Home Assistant · Shelly integrationLocal integration without Shelly Cloud. [H1]Local integration still depends on the relevant network and working actuator. Firmware, backups and secure remote access remain installation responsibilities. [H6]

Separate failure-condition checks

Project verification targets; actual behaviour must be commissioned on the selected hardware.
ConditionBehaviour to verify
Internet disconnectedPhysical controls and Home Assistant operate through the local network.
Home Assistant stoppedEssential physical controls operate their actuators directly.
LAN / Wi-Fi / coordinator unavailableActual physical input-to-output behaviour, independently of the other two conditions.

These checks do not cover a failed actuator or loss of mains. A UPS for Home Assistant/networking does not power ordinary lighting circuits. Direct operation depends on input mode. [H5]

Circuit monitoring specifications

One CT channel on a single-phase branch measures the combined circuit, not each appliance. A three-phase load uses three appropriately assigned channels. Grid import/export, PV, battery flows and branch totals need separate accounting to avoid double counting.

Channel counts and recorded design limits.
MeterChannels / arrangementLimits
Pro EM 50Two 50 A measurement channels on the same phase.2 A output for a suitable contactor interface; not a pump motor switch. [M1]
Pro 3EM · 120 AThree channels; monophase profile supports independent single-phase measurement.No built-in relay. Neutral-current input is not a fourth energy channel. [M2] [M3]
Pro 3EM · 3CT6363 A variant with a combined CT assembly. Not three independently positioned clamps. Conductor arrangement, rating and physical fit require verification. [M4]

Low-load measurement: Pro 3EM documentation records a 30 VA/channel no-load threshold and reduced accuracy below 2 A. Live power may be visible while energy accumulation is suppressed. Exact hardware/firmware behaviour for LED and standby loads remains a commissioning check. [M2]

Recorded hardware price examples

AUD examples captured 11 October 2026. Branch counts are illustrative, not a surveyed circuit schedule.
ExamplePro EM 50 unitsBranches onlyPlus one Pro 3EM
12 single-phase branches6 × A$139.95A$839.70A$1,044.65
20 single-phase branches10 × A$139.95A$1,399.50A$1,604.45

Additional Pro 3EM example: A$204.95. Hardware only; labour, protection, board alterations, networking, shipping and commissioning excluded. CT inclusions, GST, stock and checkout prices remain unverified. [M7]

Recorded lighting hardware: 1PM Gen4 A$39.33 including GST; Dimmer Gen3 A$49 regular price; Pro Dimmer 1PM A$95. Twenty single-channel dimmers: A$980 or A$1,900 respectively before installation. An expired sale was excluded. Different architectures and installation requirements prevent treating these totals as equivalent installed quotes. [L10] [L11] [L12]

Local meter history does not establish automatic Home Assistant backfill after downtime. Persistence, supported energy entities and recovery behaviour remain unverified on the proposed installation. [H1]

Recorded Australian compliance evidence

Certificate records do not approve every SKU, revision, seller or installation. Exact labels, responsible supplier, applicable equipment classification/registration, RCM, ratings, enclosure and installation conditions remain licensed-contractor procurement checks. [C6] [L13]

Future bore: design fields

Pump and supply phase are not selected. Single-phase bore pumps exist. [B1]
FieldInformation required
Hydraulic dutyBore depth, water level/drawdown, flow, pressure, pipe losses and duty cycle.
Electrical dutyNameplate voltage/phase/current, starting method, controller/VSD, maximum demand, cabling, enclosure and local isolation.
Metering / switchingCT/channel capacity and metering location appropriate to the VSD. A relay's resistive rating is not its motor rating; motor-rated contactor/controller interface is a separate requirement. [B2] [M1]
Independent protectionDry-run protection, overload protection, isolation and interlocks independent of Home Assistant.
Future allowanceCircuit position, conduit, network/control route, isolation/control space and separate quote allowance. Final phase and hardware depend on the selected pump and site survey.

Electrical contractor checklist

Verification fields for site survey, procurement and commissioning. This document does not provide a wiring diagram or installation approval.

Before rough-in
  • Confirm supply phase, service capacity and maximum demand. Map circuits, subboards, existing protection, mains, PV/battery flows and future bore allowance.
  • List room lighting groups, fittings and actual LED drivers. Specify dimming, multiway controls, direct manual operation and the desired behaviour after power returns.
  • Allow neutrals, box depth, service access, enclosure, heat dissipation and driver inrush. Trial one representative dimming group for flicker, dropout and audible buzz.
  • Prepare a meter/CT channel schedule: conductor and CT rating/aperture, phase reference, polarity, CT lead routing, DIN space, segregation and spare channels. Compare mains and branch totals without double counting.
  • Plan Ethernet at the board, Wi-Fi/coordinator coverage, Home Assistant location and backup power for the server/network. Record the selected wiring architecture: distributed modules, central Pro or KNX/DALI.
  • Reserve the pump circuit, conduit, isolation/control space and measurement channels without assuming its final phase or power.
In the quote and procurement schedule
  • Identify every exact SKU/revision, quantity, CT and accessory. Attach model-specific Australian evidence, responsible-supplier details and applicable classification/registration checks.
  • Separate hardware, protection/board work, labour, networking, commissioning and future-bore allowances. Confirm stock, lead time, GST, shipping and warranty responsibility.
  • Specify enclosure, LED/load limits, motor-control duties where relevant, service access and physical control behaviour during each failure condition.
  • Include commissioning, firmware/version records, backup/export files, labels, as-built circuit and network documentation. For KNX/DALI, include ETS/group-address/key and driver/gateway handover.
  • Include required WA notices and the Electrical Safety Certificate. [C7]
At commissioning and handover
  • Test each wall control, multiway route, dimming range and power-restoration state against the agreed schedule.
  • Run the three failure tests separately: internet off; Home Assistant stopped; local network/Wi-Fi/coordinator unavailable.
  • Label and verify every measurement channel, CT direction and phase. Compare mains and branch totals; explain expected differences, unmetered loads and low-load behaviour.
  • Check energy entities, import/export accounting, history, persistence and any downtime recovery on the actual firmware.
  • Save configuration backups, commissioning results and as-builts. Receive notices, Electrical Safety Certificate and support/warranty contacts.
  • For the bore, verify autonomous dry-run/overload protection and local isolation; Home Assistant remains monitoring/control convenience, not the sole protection.
